Islamic Ideology Council Explores Intersection of Shariah and Law at Superior University

The Chaudhry Abdul Khaliq Center for Contemporary Islamic Sciences (CAKCCIS) at Superior University City Campus hosted a thought-provoking seminar titled “Islamic Ideology Council, A Vital Institution at the Crossroads of Shariah and Law” on July 27, 2025. The event featured Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Naeemi provided valuable insights into the Council’s objectives, scope, and operational role in aligning Pakistan’s legal system with Islamic principles under the Constitution.

The seminar saw active participation from MS and Ph.D. scholars, who engaged in stimulating discussions with Dr. Naeemi on various aspects of Islamic law and its application in modern society. The questions posed by the scholars were addressed with scholarly depth and jurisprudential clarity, showcasing Dr. Naeemi’s expertise in the field. Distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Ali Akber Al-Azhari and Prof. Dr. Zahoor Ullah Al-Azhari were present adding further academic value to the session.

The event concluded with Dr. Sarwar, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, and Dr. Ali Akber Al-Azhari presenting a token of appreciation to Dr. Naeemi. This seminar highlighted the importance of the Islamic Ideology Council’s role in shaping Pakistan’s legal framework and its efforts to ensure that laws are in conformity with Islamic principles. The Council’s work in advising the government on Islamic issues and reviewing laws for compliance with Islamic principles is crucial in promoting a more just and equitable society
