The Community and Preventive Dentistry Department at Azra Naheed Dental College, Superior University, recently conducted a successful dental awareness and oral screening campaign at the University of Punjab, Lahore. The event, held in collaboration with Platinum Pharmaceuticals, saw a team of skilled dental professionals providing free screenings to students, addressing common oral health concerns such as sensitivity, bleeding gums, infections, and toothaches. In addition to the screenings, students were provided with free toothpaste samples and medications to help manage their oral health issues.
The initiative was led by Prof. Dr. Ayma Syed, Head of the Community and Preventive Dentistry Department, who, along with her team, also met with Prof. Dr. Rubina Ashraf, Director of the Institute of Social and Cultural Sciences. Their discussions centered on future collaborations, including the potential signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions to promote research, oral health awareness, and the provision of dental services.
This campaign marks an important step in improving oral health awareness among students and opens new avenues for future projects aimed at enhancing community health.
