Azra Naheed Medical College (ANMC), Superior University, Lahore recently hosted the prestigious Pakistan Neonatal Resuscitation Course (NRC) at CMA Hospital in Lahore. The intensive training program was designed to equip doctors, nurses, and midwives with advanced, evidence-based skills to manage newborns in life-threatening situations immediately after birth.
The course was expertly led by a distinguished faculty team under the direction of Prof. Dr. Iqbal Ahmad, with strong institutional support from Principal Dr. Muhammad Aslam. Renowned pediatric specialists, including Prof. Khalid Haq and Dr. Kaleem Akhtar Malhi, provided comprehensive instruction. The curriculum combined detailed theoretical lectures with practical, hands-on simulation stations, allowing participants to practice critical procedures in a controlled environment. This approach ensured mastery of the standardized protocols for airway management, chest compressions, and medication administration for neonates.
Hosting this nationally recognized course highlights ANMC’s leadership role in elevating pediatric and neonatal healthcare standards in Pakistan. The initiative directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by building local clinical capacity and reducing infant mortality. It reinforces the commitment of both ANMC and Superior University to translating academic excellence into tangible community impact through continuous professional development and partnerships with leading healthcare institutions. This program exemplifies the university’s mission to foster medical education that saves lives and strengthens the national healthcare infrastructure.
