Azra Naheed Medical College Organised MedPro Session on Assessment Excellence

Azra Naheed Medical College (ANMC), under its Medical Education Professional Development Program (MedPro), successfully conducted an insightful session titled “From Prompt to Practice – Item Development for MCQs, OSCEs & OSPEs.”

The workshop was led by distinguished facilitators — Dr. Tayyaba Azhar, Dr. Mehvish Shahid, and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah — who brought their expertise and practical experience to guide participants through the art and science of effective assessment design.

During the session, faculty members were introduced to structured strategies for developing valid, reliable, and practice-oriented Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and Objective Structured Practical Examinations (OSPEs). The focus was on bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that assessments not only evaluate learning outcomes but also enhance the overall teaching-learning process.

Engaging discussions, hands-on exercises, and practical demonstrations allowed participants to gain deeper insights into creating assessment items that reflect real-world clinical scenarios, thereby improving the quality of medical education at ANMC.

This initiative reflects ANMC’s ongoing commitment to advancing medical education through faculty development, innovation in teaching methodologies, and alignment with global best practices. By investing in the professional growth of its educators, the college continues to strengthen its role in producing competent, compassionate, and industry-ready healthcare professionals.
