
The third day of Superior University’s Research Week 2024 was marked by the exhilarating Chef Battle 2024, hosted by the School of Culinary Arts. The event brought together culinary enthusiasts and professionals, showcasing extraordinary talent and a commitment to sustainable cooking practices.
The esteemed Guests of Honour included Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Khaliq, Managing Director of The Superior Group, and Mr. Ashtar Ausaf Ali, former Attorney General of Pakistan and father of the late Chef Fatima Ali. The event introduced the ‘Chef Fatima Ali Prestigious Champions Award’ to honor Chef Fatima’s enduring legacy, reflecting her remarkable contributions to the culinary world and her pride in representing Pakistan internationally.
The competition saw participants crafting innovative, mouthwatering dishes using local ingredients and eco-friendly methods, merging artistry with sustainability. The contest attracted not only the university’s culinary talents but also a diverse group of 30 external chefs, intensifying the level of competition.
The distinguished lineup of guests included Mr. Asim Javed, Director General of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA); Mr. Imran Maqsood, Chairman of Yums Group of Restaurants; Mr. Aamir Rafiq Qureshi, Chairman of the Pakistan Restaurant Unity Association; Mr. Aftab Ahmed, CFO of Yums Group; Mrs. Anne-Sophie Français, Cultural Officer at Alliance Française; and Mr. Majid Zahoor, former member of the Provincial Assembly.
The coveted award, with a cash prize of PKR 50,000, was claimed by Chef Muzammil, whose creativity and excellence mirrored the high standards set by Chef Fatima Ali. The second place was earned by Chef Noor-ul-Ain from CHIP, while Ms. Khatija Jamal proudly secured the third position, concluding a memorable day of culinary celebration at Superior University.
