On the seventh day of Research Week 2024, Superior University’s Department of Fashion Design hosted an engaging panel discussion titled “F3: Fashion, Face & Food” in the Dental Boardroom. The event, organized by the School of Art & Design (SOAAD), explored the intersections of fashion, beauty, and cuisine, examining how each of these areas contributes to personal identity, cultural expression, and community connection.
The distinguished panel featured experts across various fields, including Dr. Usman Sana, Facial & Energy Profiling Expert and Associate Professor at Azra Naheed Dental College; Ms. Maryum Sohaib, Culinary Artist and Assistant Professor at the School of Culinary Arts; Ms. Aleena Qadeer, Professional Fashion Stylist; Mr. Sami Yazdani, Fashion Designer and Photographer; and Ms. Rabiya Asim, Lecturer in Cultural Studies at the National College of Arts.
The panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Zeeshan Ali Adnan, Program Leader of Fashion Design at SOAAD. The discussion focused on how fashion, facial profiling, and food culture intersect to create meaningful social narratives. The panelists emphasised the role of personal style, cultural heritage, and culinary art in shaping individual identity and fostering cultural pride. They also discussed how the synergy of fashion and food can enhance self-image and strengthen community bonds, offering a comprehensive view of how these creative fields celebrate diversity and inspire innovation.
