
The Department of English Language and Literature, Superior University, organized an insightful and interactive session titled “The Language of Media, The Literature of Society” at the City Campus, Lahore, featuring Mr. Naseer Wahga — a distinguished senior TV journalist, analyst, and special correspondent.
With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Mr. Wahga has served with several leading media houses, including Daily Din, Waqt TV, Dunya News, 92 News, GNN News, and currently Aik News, where he appears as an analyst on the program Direct Line. His extensive professional journey as an investigative journalist, program anchor, and analyst in current affairs and international relations served as a source of inspiration for students.
During the session, Mr. Wahga emphasized the evolving role of media as not only a vehicle of information but also a powerful instrument of social transformation, narrative-building, and public consciousness. He highlighted how the study of English language and literature sharpens analytical thinking, enriches communication, and fosters critical perspectives essential for ethical and impactful journalism.
The session drew an overwhelming response from City Campus students, who actively participated in an engaging Q&A segment, raising thought-provoking questions on the intersections between language, literature, media, and society. Mr. Wahga responded with clarity and depth, drawing from his academic background in Political Science (Forman Christian College) and Development Journalism (University of the Punjab).
