Eleventh Day of Research Week 2024 – Panel Discussion on the Impact of Climate Change on Architecture

The eleventh day of Superior University’s Research Week 2024 featured a compelling panel discussion titled “Impact of Climate Change on Architecture,” hosted by the Department of Architecture at the School of Art & Design in the Dental Boardroom.

This session gathered experts in architecture and environmental science to examine the critical relationship between climate change and architectural design. The distinguished panel included Mr. Azher-Uddin Khan, Managing Director and CEO of NEC Consultants Pvt Ltd. and the Cleaner Production Institute, Dr. Tauseef Ahmed, a prominent architect and professor in the Department of Architecture at Superior University, and Ar. Naushaba Azhar, Head of the Department of Architecture at Superior University. The session was moderated by Ar. Masooma Rubab, Lecturer at the Department of Architecture, who guided the discussion with thought-provoking questions on sustainable design and urban adaptation.

The session highlighted the urgent need for architects to integrate climate resilience into their designs, adapting structures to withstand environmental changes and reduce their ecological footprint. Each panelist shared insights into sustainable practices, innovative materials, and design strategies that could mitigate the impacts of climate change.
