On the eleventh day of Superior University’s Research Week 2024, the Department of Interior Design at the School of Art & Design hosted an enlightening seminar titled “Interventions in the Built Heritage: Case Study of Tollinton Market, Lahore.”
This seminar provided a valuable exploration of heritage conservation practices, focusing on one of Lahore’s iconic historical sites. The keynote speaker, Mr. Sajjad Kausar, a renowned architect, conservator, and professor at Beaconhouse National University’s School of Architecture, brought a wealth of expertise to the event. During the seminar, Mr. Kausar shared insightful perspectives on preserving Lahore’s rich architectural legacy. He emphasized the challenges and responsibilities involved in maintaining heritage sites while integrating sustainable practices that respect the original essence of the architecture.
The seminar was moderated by Mr. Syed Aqeel Kazmi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Interior Design, who guided the discourse on conservation strategies and their cultural significance.
