Social Innovation in Action
The Re-Jean initiative, developed under the Fun-e-Dastoor program, represents Superior University’s commitment to sustainability and community empowerment. This innovative project focuses on recycling old jeans into valuable products, demonstrating a creative approach to reducing textile waste and promoting circular economy practices.

An extension of this initiative, Charcoal Whitening Powder, exemplifies how traditional knowledge and modern research can intersect to create eco-friendly products. Together, these ventures showcase Superior University’s dedication to fostering social innovation, sustainable production, and community resilience, aligning directly with the objectives of SDG 11 and SDG 12

One of the flagship initiatives, the Efficient Gas Stove Project by the Department of Emerging Management Sciences, introduced an energy-efficient cooking solution designed to ensure even heat distribution and reduce cooking time. This innovation directly contributes to minimizing fuel consumption and carbon emissions, aligning with the university’s mission to encourage sustainable product design and responsible innovation.

Additionally, the university strengthened its commitment to environmental awareness through recycling campaigns, waste segregation programs, and paper reduction drives across faculties. Training sessions and workshops on sustainable living practices were conducted under the Social Entrepreneurship Program (SEP), empowering students and faculty to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives.
