The third roundtable of the Rectors’ Conference 2024 convened at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, under the theme “Character Mastery: A Key to Achieving and Sustaining Success.” The roundtable session was presided over by Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University, and moderated by Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman, Rector of Superior University, and Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor of Preston University and President of the Federal Chapter of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP).
This roundtable attracted a diverse group of participants, including 10 vice chancellors from public sector universities and 13 from private institutions. Noteworthy international attendees included the Associate Dean of RMIT University, Australia, and representatives from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE).
The discussions emphasised the crucial role of character mastery in fostering personal and professional development. Participants highlighted how character mastery enhances leadership skills, instills integrity, and drives long-term success, positively impacting educational institutions and society at large. This focus aims to reshape higher education by integrating academic excellence with moral and ethical growth, setting a new standard for future leaders.
