Superior University’s Academic Council Convenes 45th Meeting to Drive Strategic Academic Governance

The 45th Meeting of the Academic Council of Superior University was held on 23 December 2025, chaired by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman. The session convened a comprehensive assembly of the university’s academic leadership, including distinguished external members, all Deans, Heads of Departments, the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, the Director of CMACED, the Director of CAKCCIS, additional registrars from regional campuses and heads of key support departments.

Following the recitation from the Holy Quran and the formal confirmation of previous minutes, the council engaged in substantive strategic reviews. Detailed Performance Reviews of the Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie Faculty clusters were presented by their respective captains, offering a holistic analysis of academic outcomes, operational progress, student engagement, and identified priorities for continuous quality improvement.

The council undertook significant deliberations on pivotal academic advancements. Key outcomes included the approval of recommendations from the Board of Medical Sciences to launch PhD programmes in Basic Medical Sciences. Furthermore, the council reviewed and sanctioned proposals for the introduction of new academic programmes at the university’s Layyah, Sargodha and Faisalabad campuses, as put forward by their respective Boards of Faculties.

The meeting was characterised by constructive dialogue and forward-looking decision-making. The resolutions ratified are set to substantially strengthen Superior University’s academic governance, facilitate strategic programme expansion, and reinforce the institution’s trajectory towards enhanced excellence and growth in the forthcoming academic year.
